This weekend I was tired, dirty, sweaty, exhausted and yet, have never felt better in my entire life.
I never felt more accomplished, more full of love or had so much respect for my friends and family. This weekend we spent helping our friend, whose whole family lost everything in the flood. Not only herself and her 2 boys but also, her parents who live across the street and her aunt and grandmother that live down the road!! This family is a group of the kindest, most giving people we have come to know.
We are feeling very fortunate that we are able to donate our time for them and hope that at least one of the homes will be salvageable. We worked with some amazing people, and I feel blessed to know in times of need there are still people who put in the blood sweat and tears it takes to get a family back to normal. You do not realize how devastated the flood victims really are until you are there in person. I would like to encourage all of my friends to think about what they can do to help the thousands of families in need!

Its amazing to me how quickly people seem to forget I was talking to some colleagues at the confernce this past week and they were all like "you are still cleaning up?" Uhm, yeah we are and people will be for years!!!! frustrating! So its good to know that we hoosiers are banding together to help each other.. ((hugs))
